1994 Brickyard winning DuPont Lumina driven by Jeff Gordon

 

This car features a plethora of aftermarket items from Detail Master, Model Car Garage, Scale Model Speedway, Modern Motorsports, Machined Aluminum Specialties, Arrowhead Aluminum Accessories and several others.

This car was built in Race Ready trim. It is fully plumbed with Detail Master fittings and line. The interior features a scratch built "Koolbox", fully wired dash, ignition boxes and coils, duck hoses, and bracing. David even opened the dash accessory panel to show the wiring on the back of the gauges. The decals are from Slixx and the paint is authentic automotive paint of Jeff's neon and metallic blue of that period.

Detail Master-All A/N fittings in various sizes, All braided line in various sizes, Power steering Overflow tank, all small detail wire in various colors, window net kit, seatbelts, hood pin kit, steering wheel assembly, throttle linkage assembly, fire extinguisher.

Model Car Garage- Hood Hinges, front dash gauge unit, window bracings, nuts and bolt heads, air cleaner, carburetors assembly, drive pulley set with belts, front grills, brake calipers, electric fan, racing pedal faces.

Machined Alum. Specialties- Solid PE Rotor assemblies, Rear Differential Pulley System and belt.

Scale Model Speedway- 1.5 dia. rubber cooling duct hose, 2.0 dia. rubber cooling duct hose.

Slixx- 2 sets of 1994 DuPont Decal Sheets, various goodie sheets

Modern Motor Sports- Butler built Period Correct Resin Seat, coil and ignition box plate, remote Oil filter assembly, pillar Naca duct (vacuum formed)

Paint- Blue- duplicator GM Medium Metallic Blue, Red- Sems Neon Red, Clear coat- Omni Brand 2 part urethane.

Scratch built items and details Exterior-

Car was slab sided using sheet styrene and putty. Front fascia was incorporated smoothly with added holes for MCG ducts.

Pillar glass was scratch built and drivers side duct openings incorporated using metal tubing.

Rear aero foil was added to the rear glass out of sheet styrene.

Rear spoiler was made out of sheet styrene taller and more aggressive

Rear overflow tube was added out of aluminum tubing

All tires and wheels received detailed Race markings and dual valve stems.

Interior Scratch built items and details-

"Koolbox" on passenger floor built out of sheet styrene and tubing. Covered in Cigarette foil, wired and plumbed.

Entire exhaust system is scratch built. Headers are made from solder and embossing metal for the collectors. The H-pipe was made from Plumbers solder smoothed into various Alcald  and Tamiya clear paints.

Lower radiator shroud is made from soft Embossing metal. This metal was also used throughout the build for brake line brackets, entry plate forms for hoses through bulkheads etc.

The car features scratch built crush panels mated to the firewall out of the same metal and detailed with reinforcement panels.

All underside fender and quarter panel bracing was added using small plastic dia. tubing.

Helmet was detailed using decals custom made by Clay Kemp as well as "Koolbox" and BSR products. Logos on scratch built blower fans.
