This is a twist on the Hubley metal 1930 Packard Sports Phaeton kit. I have seen hundreds of beautiful Hubley models that look like they just rolled off of the assembly line or a complete restoration. I thought it was time to show a pre-restoration car. This is what a lot of classic cars look like when they are found now.
Suffering from an automobile accident on the left front and a broken left rear spring assembly, this beautiful Packard ended up in a field for years. Rust and rot destroyed the paint, top and upholstery. A bird built a nest, complete with eggs, on top of generator in the engine compartment. Destroyed windshield, coil springs sticking through the rotten upholstery, an abandoned gas can in the front seat and junk parts in the back seat area are typical of what you would find in an abandoned 75 year old rusted hulk of once classic car.
I have built a lot of models, but this is one was the most fun I have every had.
